  About Chirai


Gamuchirai Makoti known professionally as Chirai, is an Australian based singer and songwriter. Born in the United Kingdom, she was raised in church and grew up singing in the choir and worship leading from a very young age.

During this time Chirai grew a passion for music and auditioned for the UK based music program Young voices. Chirai excelled musically and went on to perform with artists such as Usher, Connie Tablot and Alexandra Burke.

Chirai is classically trained in violin and piano and now ventures into R&B and soul music. She has written music for various Artists and performed in world renowned venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in South Kensington London and will be performing tonight accompanied by the Award nominated Camerata - Queensland's Chamber Orchestra.

She is a firm believer in hard work, dedication and having crazy faith. She believes you should never allow anyone's opinions or beliefs stop you from believing in and working towards your dream.

She often quotes Ellen Johnson Sirleaf “If your dreams don’t scare you, they are too small”.
